Crews arrived to find a two car accident with one vehicle sustaining heavy front ent damage. One patient was transported to the trauma center in stable condition while another patient refused care on the scene. Units Responding: 692, 693, R-1, R-2, Sq-2
At 1500 hours Charlestown Rescue units were dispatched along with Charlestown Fire District and a Charlestown Police for a motorcycle accident on Buckeye Brook Road. Arriving crews found an injured operator that was conscious and alert on the side of the road. Crews transported this sole patient to the trauma center in stable condition. At 1900 hours Charlestown Rescue units were dispatched along with Dunn’s Corners Fire Department, Charlestown Police and DEM Police for a single car MVA into a tree at the Burlingame Campground. Arriving crews found a single vehicle into a tree on the main access road just in from the main check-in station, with the sole operator still in the vehicle. Patient was assisted out of the vehicle with crews on scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Units Responding: 692, 693, R-2, SQ-90
Even though these calls occurred during weekday hours, they were handled by numerous providers that were available at the building training above our normal staffing levels. This also allowed us to backfill a second rescue while the primary rescue transports to RI Hospital prolonging turnaround times.
